November is National Long-Term Care Awareness Month

November is National Long-Term Care Awareness Month and LTC Consumer is gearing up to educate consumers about the issue. The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance established the cause in 2001, Congress and several Governors have recognized it, and people have been planning for their financial futures ever since then.

In celebration and recognition, we will be posting interesting and informative facts and resources about long-term care on our social media pages for the entire month:

The month of November is the beginning of the holiday season, where families will be gathering and sitting around tables, reminiscing and discussing future plans. And while we realize not everyone will need LTC insurance, we know everyone needs a plan. For those where LTC insurance is the plan, our hope is that during LTC Awareness Month families discuss their retirement strategy with their loved ones. Ask Grandma and Grandpa if they happen to have a policy – and where it is stored, let adult children know if you have a policy and how you hope to be cared for, or perhaps start the discussion with a spouse if you think a policy would be a good idea.

When your family gathers for the holidays, be sure to discuss long-term care plans and make sure everyone is in the know.
